So named because of its exceptional visibility in a smoke filled environment. It is now well known that point sourced light penetrates smoke several times more effectively than diffused light. Our registered design makes use of this phenomenon by utilising numerous high intensity points of light provided by high efficiency led's, to make up the emergency pictogram. These leds operate at a wavelength very close to that of the peak spectral sensitivity of the human eye. This increases the visual retention of the sign.
